Lip-Smacking “218: Mee Jawa” In Sungai Petani, Kedah

If you do visit Sungai Petani, Kedah, don’t miss the opportunity to try the 218 : Mee Jawa located somewhere near the old clock tower! To me, this is one of the best Mee Jawa that
I have ever tasted before! The gravy is simply heavenly and thick. 218 is actually the stall number and the stall is located somewhere near the 2nd Street “jee kei” in Hokkien. Just
ask around for directions if you are still “blur” about the location. Hmmm… waiting for my next trip down to Sungai Petani so that I can enjoy the Mee Jawa again!  :P    yummy…..

What!! Penguins in Langkawi!

One of the places in Malaysia that I still like to visit (despite being there many times) is Langkawi Island. There are loads and loads of beach activities that you can enjoy. Nearby Cenang Beach is the Langkawi Underwater World. I’ve been there numerous times and I have seen many improvisations and now there are more fishes there and also the Rockhopper Penguins. They certainly do get all the attention especially from childrens who would gawk and wished that they could touch the penguins. Anyway, I do find the display of freshwater fish from the Amazon more interesting. There are many accomodations in Langkawi Island and my personal favourite would be the Mutiara Burau Bay (I must stress that this is not an AD). It is definitely far from the busy Kuah town but not too far from the airport though. I find the place very peaceful and relaxing. However, if you are looking for some fun at night, then it would be better if you stay at Cenang Beach. There are many accomodations located along the long stretch of the beach.

A Time To Reflect

In a few days time, 2007 will come to an end and we will herald the new year with joy with our loved ones. Sometimes, in the busy lives of ours, we tend to forget to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us. As trivial as it might be, people like to be pampered and showered with sweet words and thoughts, especially women! A sweet romantic love letter to your wife, a romantic candle-light dinner, holding her hands or even a holiday to the tropics like Malaysia could just be the key to reigniting the romance and eternal happiness in your life.

Truphone on Facebook

I received the following message from Nick Vaux at Truphone (Software Cellular Network Ltd.) informing me of a new “free” telephone service available through the Facebook social/ web-community page. I do not have a Facebook account, so I have not been able to check out this service.

From the email, I take it that Truphone partnered up with Facebook.com to offer a free telephone service that is available through your user profile. I am told that you can call landlines and cellphones (within the US/ Canada). In Nick’s email, it is not clear whether you can make calls to other countries.

As I have previously stated, I have not used this services because I do not have a Facebook account. But if someone out there does use Facebook, I would appreciate it if you could try out this calling service and leave a comment below about what you think.

I posted the email from Truphone below, so you have all the information that I do on this as well as instructions on how to use it:
___________________________________________________________

Hi,

I’m Nick, and I work for a company called Truphone. We’re a mobile operator that uses the internet to give people free and low-cost calls(and SMS) on their mobile.

We’ve just built a new application for Facebook which lets you make free phone calls from Facebook. I’ve been checking out your blog and I think this application could be of real use to you and your site visitors.

The Truphone ˜Call MeTM Button lets you call real phones from within Facebook for free. This means your Facebook friends can make free calls to your landline (or US/Canadian cellphone). You simply add the application to your profile in the normal way.

It is available to all Facebook users and is particularly useful if you’re travelling or away from home.

I was wondering if you’d mind me posting a note on your blog about the Call Me Button app – I think your visitors could benefit from using it. Please let me know what you think?

Kind regards

Nick (Truphone)

Tis’ the season to be jolly!

Christmas has always been a time to enjoy good food and be jolly. In the midst of merriment, we stop counting the calories, cholesterol etc. It is only when Christmas is over that we start to fret about our expanding waistlines etc. Yo-yo dieting is definitely a no no! Magnetic diet : weight loss programs which helps us to eat healthily and control out cravings is definitely a good idea to try out!
